“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!” Psalm 98:4

The Purpose of the Music Ministry

A purpose statement is currently being collaborated that will express the purpose of the music ministry that will echo the commands of scripture as well as the hearts of the music ministry participants.

Opportunities for Ministry through Music

The Worship Choir exists to help lead the congregation in worship through song. They do this by helping lead congregational singing during worship services as well as giving testimony through choir specific songs.  The choir is open to all.  Please contact Bro. Matthew with any questions.  They meet weekly for rehearsals on Sunday afternoons from 5:30-6:45.

The Worship Choir prepares to share the message of the gospel through song by preparing cantata’s for both Christmas and Easter.  Church members are invited to join for specific choir events such as these.

The Youth Praise Band and Youth Choir are seasonal groups.  As the interest arises these groups help minister to the church.  These groups help teach the students musical skills as well as give areas where the youth can be leaders as they serve in the church.

Plans are being made for a Children’s Choir to begin.  The children often sing as support for the Worship Choir during musicals and other special events.

There are many other groups that support the overall music ministry of Horse Cave Baptist Church including but not limited to:

-          Women’s Ensemble

-          Men’s Ensemble

-          Handbell Choir

-          Instrumental Ensemble

Scripture is clear that music is an important aspect of worship.  Believers have lifted up songs from the beginning of time and one day all believers will join the songs of heaven as we praise the Father.  I encourage you to pray about how God will use you. Perhaps the Lord is calling you to join or lead one of these groups, or even one not listed.  Please contact Bro. Matthew Bone with any questions by calling the church or by e-mail at mbone446@gmail.com .
